Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Clients from each of the surrounding states load up in vans and visit Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control 10 gambling dens of their own.
