Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the Indian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Clients from each of the surrounding states load up in vans and visit Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine Native bands located in Oklahoma have introduced gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control 10 gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were founded. computerized games such as slots weren’t authorized, since they are thought to contribute to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to permit gigantic Indian betting gambling halls. You’ll now see Native gambling dens with one armed bandits, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the American Indian casinos as of yet, but that is simply a waiting game. Nobody can authority what having other games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
