Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for decades. Patrons from every one of the nearby states load up in automobiles and visit Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a landmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian bands of Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian band to take advantage of the wagering laws, and at this time operate 10 gambling halls of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were founded. Electronic games like slot machines were not approved, owing to the fact that they are believed to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law has altered to permit enormous Native betting gambling dens. You’ll now see Native casinos with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet authorized in the American Indian casinos yet, although that is just a waiting game. No one can determine what having different casino games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
