Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Patrons from every one of the neighboring states load up in passenger cars and head over to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA was introduced after a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. Since that time, 23 of the 39 Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have opened gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the wagering rules, and today operate 10 casinos of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. In recent years, Oklahoma rules has changed to permit big Indian gambling casinos. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slots, video poker and chemin de fer tables.
