An abundance has been talked in the papers just a while ago about the bingo industry being hit because of the cigarette ban in the UK. Conditions have become so bad that in Scotland the Bingo industry has requested massive aid to help keep the businesses afloat. But does the net adaptation of this traditional game present a salvation, or might it never compare to its land based opposite?

Bingo is an established game usually enjoyed by the "blue rinse" generation. For all that the game of late had seen a recent increase in appeal with younger members of society opting to go to the bingo parlors in place of the clubs on a Saturday night. This is all about to be destroyed with the enacting of the smoking ban around United Kingdom.

Players will no longer be allowed to smoke at the same time dabbing numbers. Starting in the summer of 2007 every public location will not be allowed to permit smoking in their venues and this includes Bingo halls, which are possibly the most favored areas where players enjoy smoking.

The outcome of the anti cigarette law can already be observed in Scotland where smoking is already illegal in the bingo halls. Players have dropped and the business is absolutely fighting for its life. But where have the players gone? Of course they have not cast aside this classic game?

The answer is on the net. Gamblers realise that they can bet on bingo using their computer while enjoying a beverage and smoke and still enjoy big cash rewards. This is a recent anomaly and has happened bordering on perfect with the ban on smoking.

Of course gambling on online is unlikely to replace the collective part of heading over to the bingo hall, but for a group of people the law has left a number of bingo players with little option.
